Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 tuna steaks (approx 250gm each)
1/3 cup sesame seeds
6 sprigs coriander
2 spring onions
100gm fresh rocket
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Half a lemon
1 red chili
1 green chili
1 teaspoon fresh ginger
1 table spoon dark soy
1 tablespoon light soy
Method:
Place rocket onto a plate, with a squeeze of lemon juice on top
Next, prepare the sauce, as the tuna will cook very quickly
In a bowl, combine grated rind from half a lemon, grated ginger, and both types of soy sauce
Stir until mixed well
Chop coriander, spring onions and chilies ready to use as garnish
Heat sesame oil in a frying pan
Coat tuna steaks with sesame seeds, then place in frying pan
As the tuna cooks, it will turn white.
As the white approaches the middle of the steak, turn it over and cook other side
Note: if you prefer your tuna slightly rare or more well done, simply adjust your cooking time as desired.
Once cooked, remove & serve on the bed of rocket
Drizzle soy sauce mixture over the top, and sprinkle coriander, spring onion & chili garnish over the top
For a bit of extra crunch, add some crispy noodles
